Pixel Lineage beginner guide: make your first run useful

By Pixel Lineage Field Guide · Checked

Start on Normal with a class you can learn, practice attack and defensive timing, and return to town when the run is going badly. Jay’s beginner guide recommends Warrior as a straightforward first option; it is a recommendation, not a required class.[1]

The useful answer

For the first session: prepare a usable character, claim any available rewards, learn a Normal run, then return with a specific job for the Inn, Blacksmith or Ranch. A perfect reroll is not the first milestone.

Prepare a character you can learn with

Separate the choices: class is your active kit, race and talent supply different passives. Gamezebo describes Warrior and Archer as accessible starting choices, while Bard’s support role has a steeper learning curve.[2] Pick the action pattern you want to practice rather than a tier letter with unexplained conditions.

Use Normal to learn the combat

Jay recommends a Solo or Multiplayer run on Normal before harder content. His guide describes combat as requiring timed attacks and responses to enemy moves.[1] Let that decide the pace of your first attempt.

What you noticeWhat to do next
Your action repeatedly misses its timingRepeat the same attack and read its displayed prompt. Do not assume a different class uses the same input.
You take damage while watching only your turnWatch the enemy response as deliberately as your own action.
A stronger-looking build still strugglesSeparate timing errors from an equipment problem before spending resources.

Use the current in-game control prompts for your class and device. This page does not claim that one desktop key works for every skill, controller or phone. The table is a practice plan, not a tested repair for an input bug.

Let remaining lives change the plan

Roonby reports three starting lives and a life lost on combat defeat. It points to Return Home at the bottom left when you need to leave a struggling run.[1]

At one life, change the goal.

Instead of making the next unfamiliar fight your experiment, return and inspect what would improve the character. If a storage or transfer decision matters, read that live interface before confirming it. This guide does not promise that every item, level or currency survives death or reset.

The practical question is what you are trying to learn from the next fight. If you already know the timing is going wrong, another high-risk attempt may provide less help than practicing with a kit you understand. Extra lives reported in a code list are not a guaranteed balance until the game actually grants them.

Return with a job for one town service

Jay lists the Inn for storing items, materials and Gold, the Blacksmith for equipment improvement, and the Ranch for pet management.[1]

Choose the service for the problem you have. A pet, an upgrade and another reroll are different investments. Check the price and confirmation text in the current interface; this starting route does not establish permanent repair costs, upgrade guarantees or a fixed order for every account.

Set the next milestone after the first run

If timing is improving, continue with the class you have. If the kit itself feels wrong, compare the six classes before a reset. If the problem is missing support, investigate a pet before assuming a rarer race will solve it.

Super and Ultra are later progression tasks. Our class progression section explains the shrine stage; Ultra progression separates Sigils from Tomes. Neither is a prerequisite for making your first practice run useful.
